Tom has had issues with most of the members of House Tully, but most particularly with Ser Edmure Tully. When Edmure was younger he used to love to go wenching and once lost a girl to Tom after Edmure was unable to perform for her. After that Tom wrote a song about a floppy fish, which has caused Edmure to hold a hatred of music and especially singers ever since.
Tom also had a run-in with Lysa Arrynafter the Lady of the Eyrie forced him to walk through the mountains after the clans there robbed him. When he arrived on the other side he was forced to sing and dance to receive passage through.
He seems to have held many relationships and one night stands as he claims he has way more than seven children. One of these is meant to be a resident of the Peach brothel in Stoney Sept, though he does not acknowledge him as his own. Anguy says that Tom used to have an affair with Ravella Swann, the lady of House Smallwood.
A Storm of SwordsEdit
Tom joins the Brotherhood without banners after the outbreak of the War of the Five Kings. He wanders the Riverlands with Anguy and Lem Lemoncloak. On their journeys they encounter Arya Stark, Gendry and Hot Pie and decide to take them with them. They only realize how valuable a prisoner Arya is after Harwin identifies her. Tom is one of the Brotherhood members who holds Arya and keeps her with them until they find Beric and Thoros of Myr.
A Feast for CrowsEdit
At some point Tom comes into the service of Ser Ryman Frey, although he remains a member of the brotherhood. The Brotherhood are now targeting members of House Frey, House Lannister and House Bolton, people who were responsible for the Red Wedding, as they are now being led by the revived Catelyn Stark, now known as Lady Stoneheart.
Tom is present when Ryman is sent away from the Siege of Riverrun, and possibly makes the Brotherhood aware that Ryman is prime for targeting, as he is dead within a few days. Tom is brought by Ser Jaime Lannister whilst he threatens Edmure. Tom is instructed to play The Rains of Castamere, to which Edmure asks for anything but him.
