Martin seems to have either forgotten the series, or realized he screwed up so bad by splitting the story plot by characters in the last book of the Ice and Fire series and cannot dig himself out of the hole he has created. Either way what was a rich fantasy story, has become a waste of time for any reader. I remember reading a post by someone which compared the then likelihood Robert Jordon would die before he finished his Wheel of Time series, and the writer was happy to wait for Martin to work on the Ice and Fire series again. Well Jordon did die, but he left enough information for the series to be finished by someone else. I wonder how the author of that blog message feels now. Robert Jordon took care of his audience even in death, while George Martin can’t seem to even remember he had an audience as evidence by no information from him for the last couple of years regarding the series. I guess he is too busy sucking up the free meals on the lecture series.
