Riverrun is a stronghold that lies northwest of King's Landing and serves as the seat of the Lord Paramount of the Trident.

It has historically been in the hands of the Tullys, the family of Catelyn Stark. It is the scene for many important moments during the War of the Five Kings, including the imprisonment of Jaime Lannister, the death of Lord Hoster Tully, and the home of Catelyn during much of A Clash of Kings and A Storm of Swords.
