Ser Rickard Thorne was an anointed knight of House Thorne and a sworn member of the Kingsguard under Kings Viserys I Targaryen and Aegon II Targaryen. He died at the hands of a mob in Bitterbridge.

Rickard followed Lord Commander Criston Cole in siding with Prince Aegon over Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen after the death of their father. he fought for the greens in the Dance of the Dragons.
As King's Landing fell to Rhaenyra, Lord Larys Strong ordered Rickard to accompany Prince Maelor Targaryen out of the castle. He successfully smuggled the boy out using a secret passage in Maegor's Holdfast. Rickard was tasked with escorting Maelor to Oldtown, seat of Aegon loyalists House Hightower. He failed to achieve this goal, however, as both him and the prince died at the hands of a mob in Bitterbridge, with the mob anxious to gain possession of the valuable prince.
