Ser Quincy Cox is the head of House Cox and the Knight of Saltpans. He is an old man whose sons and grandsons left to fight in the War of the Five Kings.

Ser Quincy stays in his castle during the war, sending his sons and men-at-arms to represent House Cox in the fighting. Towards the end of the war, after they abandon Vargo Hoat, Rorge and Biter travel to Saltpans, hoping to find them a ship to take them across the Narrow Sea. They can't find one and instigate the Raid on Saltpans. Ser Quincy refuses to let the smallfolk into his keep as he would rather protect his family.
