Milk of the Poppy or Milk of Poppy is an opiate medical drink made by the Maesters of Westeros to be used as a pain killer or anesthetic for those who are injured, wounded, or generally in great pain. Like many anesthetics, it sends the drinker into a deep sleep. The milk is made from the Poppy flower and is white in color, hence its name.
