The Kingsguard is a team of knights appointed the task of protecting the King of Westeros and all of his family and guests. They wear white cloaks, and are a team of seven men. Their loyalties lie with the King, and they take no wives and own no land. Characters such as Jaime Lannister and Loras Tyrell have been on the Kingsguard.
