Lord Commander Jeor Mormont, also known as the Old Bear, was the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch. Before joining the Night's Watch, he had been the Lord of Bear Island and the head of House Mormont.
He has an obnoxious raven and a Valyrian steel sword named Longclaw.
