House Selmy is a noble house from the Stormlands, who swear their fealty to House Baratheon. Their seat is the castle of Harvest Hall. Their sigil is three yellow stalks on a brown field. The current head of the house is Lord Arstan Selmy.

History Edit

Ser Barristan Selmy fought in the Tourney of Blackhaven when he was aged ten. He rode against Prince Duncan Targaryen. He was unhorsed and revealed as a child, but Duncan gave him the epithet the Bold.

Barristan was the eldest son of Ser Lyonel Selmy, the knight of Harvest Hall. He served as a squire to Ser Manfred Swann, and was knighted by King Aegon V Targaryen at the age of sixteen. At twenty three, he was given the white cloak by Lord Commander Gerold Hightower. Barristan gave up his claim to Harvest Hall to serve as a knight of the Kingsguard.

Barristan beat Prince Rhaegar Targaryen in tourneys. He slew King Maelys Blackfyre during the War of the Ninepenny Kings.
