House Caswell sided with Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen during the Dance of the Dragons. They fought in the Battle on the Honeywine, where their military commander, the bastard Tom Flowers, was killed by the dragon Tessarion.
House Caswell stayed loyal to House Targaryen during the First Blackfyre Rebellion. Ser Kyle claimed to have saved the life of Lord Armond Caswell durig the war. Kyle is defeated by Lord Joffrey Caswell during the Whitewalls Tourney.
In his youth Lorent Caswell attempted to take a sword made by a Bitterbridge blacksmith. The sword had been made for the blacksmith's son, Rolly. For attempting to steal the blade Rolly attacked the then knight, injuring him before fleeing Westeros to join the ranks of the Golden Company.
A Clash of Kings Edit
House Caswell follow their liege lords in declaring for King Renly Baratheon upon the death of King Robert Baratheon. Catelyn Stark meets Renly's army under the walls of Bitterbridge, where a feast and tourney are being held. Lord Caswell shuts himself up inside Bitterbridge after the death of Renly near Storm's End.
A Feast for Crows Edit
Caswell men are encountered at Maidenpool by Brienne Tarth. This presumably means that Lorent Caswell has sided with his liege lords in favour of King Tommen I Baratheon. It also suggests that the Caswell forces are under the command of Lord Randyll Tarly, who held Maidenpool at the time.
