Ser Hobert Hightower was an anointed knight of House Hightower during the Dance of the Dragons. He willingly poisoned himself to kill his enemy.

Ser Hobert was the cousin of Lord Ormund Hightower and followed him into support of King Aegon II Targaryen during the war. He was in command of the baggage train during the First Battle of Tumbleton and afterwrads was given command of the army as his cousin had been killed in the fighting. He was a weak leader and failed miserably to stop the sack of Tumbleton after he was asked to do so by Prince Daeron Targaryen.

Hobert was a member of the caltrops, a group who wanted Hugh Hammer and Ulf the White, the Two Betrayers, dead. Hugh was killed during the Second Battle of Tumbleton, but Ulf slept through the battle underneath a tavern table. Afterwrads Ser Hobert brought him two casks of wine, but this aroused suspicion from the dragonrider. Hobert drank a glass from the cask and praised the quality, even asking for more. He died of poison shortly after.
