Haereg suggested the idea that the original ancestors of the Ironborn were not First Men, but were another race that came across the Sunset Sea, but he later dismissed this due to a lack of evidence.
Haereg believed that the kings of House Hoare were resented by the Ironborn due to their tolerance of the Faith of the Seven.
