Genna Lannister is the only daughter of Lord Tytos Lannister and his wife, Jeyne Marbrand. She is the younger sister of Tywin and Kevan Lannister, and the older sister of Tygett and Gerion Lannister. She is married to Emmon Frey, and together they have four children.

Appearance and Character Edit

Genna was shapely in her youth, but has since become fat. Now she has a square figure with a broad and smooth face.

Genna is intelligent and shrewd, which appears to be a common trait in House Lannister, and commands authority. She bosses around her husband, who she considers to be inept. She sits at the war council of Ser Jaime Lannister, which is unusual for a woman.

History Edit

Genna was born as the third child of Tytos Lannister and Jeyne Marbrand, as well as being the only daughter. Tytos wanted to be liked and loved by his people and other lords. This was used as a weakness by Lord Walder Frey, who managed to secure a marriage between Genna and his second son, Emmon, when Genna was 7 and Emmon was 14.

The betrothal was announced at a feast attended by half the nobles of The Westerlands. Genna's eldest brother, Tywin, spoke out against the match. Genna did not love Tywin for the man that he became, nor for some of the things that he did, but she did love him for that. The announcement also elicited a laugh from Ellyn Tarbeck and Roger Reyne stormed from the hall in a fit of rage.

Genna did not love Emmon, but she did have four children by him. The oldest was Cleos, the second was Lyonel, the third was Tion, and the last was Walder, named for his paternal grandfather. She would also have two grandsons by Cleos and his wife, Jeyne Darry, Tywin and Willem Frey. Genna remained at Casterly Rock after her marriage, as did Emmon.

After the death of Joanna Lannister, Tywin's wife and cousin, Genna became a maternal influence on Tywin's three children. She used to pinch Jaime's ear. It was Genna that confided in Cersei Lannister that her father had offered the king with a proposal to wed her to the heir apparent, Prince Rhaegar Targaryen of Dragonstone. It was Genna that Cersei ran to when this didn't happen, and Genna told her that the offer had been refused by King Aerys II Targaryen. Genna told Cersei that Tywin would find her a better husband.

Genna once told her eldest brother that, of all his children, it was Tyrion Lannister who resembled him the most. Tywin got angry at this, as he hated Tyrion, and didn't talk to Genna at all for half a year. She has apparently since fallen out of Tywin's favour, though it is unsure what she actually did.
