The First Men were the first humans known to have settled in Westeros. They came from the east approximately 12.000 years ago across the Arm of Dorne.

Primitive and violent, they warred with the original inhabitants of Westeros, magical beings called the Children of the Forest, until both races made a truce and started an age of peace. In time, the First Men started worshipping the nameless gods of the Children.
