Benjen Stark, also known as Ben Stark, is the youngest son of Lord Rickard Stark and Lady Lyarra Stark. He is the younger brother to Brandon Stark, Eddard Stark and Lyanna Stark. He served for a time as the First Ranger of the Night's Watch.
History[]
Benjen was closer to his older sister than his older brothers. At the Tourney of Harrenhal he is in attendance with his siblings. He gives Howland Reed a horse and armour after Lyanna saves him from some squires that attacked him.
During Robert's Rebellion, Benjen stayed in The North, serving as the Stark in Winterfell. Some time after the end of the war, he went north and joined the Night's Watch at The Wall.

A Game of Thrones[]
Benjen rides to Winterfell from the Wall to attend the feast held when King Robert Baratheon rides to the castle from the south. He talks with his brother's bastard, Jon Snow, about direwolves and the Night's Watch. Benjen suggests that Jon father some bastards of his own before joining the Watch.
Benjen is dismayed when Tyrion Lannister tells him that he will be accompanying him north. He leads the party to the Wall, and is joined by Yoren at a holdfast. Benjen shares a shelter with his nephew.
Benjen goes missing beyond the Wall while searching for Ser Waymar Royce. His fate is uncertain.
