The Defiance of Duskendale occurred in 276AL when Lord Denys Darklyn of Duskendale demanded a new town charter from Aerys II Targaryen, the King. He refused to pay any more taxes. When Aerys went to Duskendale to arrest and execute Denys, Denys actually kidnapped and imprisoned Aerys, which some say was the thing that drove him mad. He was saved by Ser Barristan Selmy. The entire House Darklyn and House Hollard were destroyed.
